Description
With many requests for simpler and easier designs, this book is a compilation of the simplest designs from each of the previous books. Many have been simplified further or enlarge to make them even less complicated. Also added are over 50 different background ideas to add texture and variety! Whether you’re a freehand quilter, use pantographs, or you’re a digitized quilter, it is important to learn how to add background fill manually to avoid a lot of stops and starts. This book walks you through how to make each design your own.
Relax and enjoy quilting! Nature is a perfect resource for designs as no two leaves or petals on a plant are alike. It is the small variances that make things look ‘handmade’ and wonderful! One of the most important things that you can learn is to simply say, “I meant to do it that way!” If in your attempt to follow a pattern and it looks different, YOU have created a NEW design! YOU have given it YOUR signature! Congratulations!
Our goal is to give you a wealth of ideas, a beginning place to jump off of! Practice, practice, practice! You may choose to use a white board, chalk board, paper, draw in the air or ‘simply’ in your mind. The designs in this book are in an order that goes from simple to more difficult so start at the beginning. Copy each design 10 times going from right to left, then from left to right. Turn the page 45 degrees then trace the design going up and down ten times each. Then try using the design in a meander, like a stipple design. Each background texture can be enlarged and used as an edge to edge (e2e) design! It is important to keep learning and adding to your portfolio of designs!
As copying is the highest form of compliment, please feel free to use these designs to enhance your customer’s quilts as well as those of your friends and family. We appreciate you sharing the fun of our books with your creative friends. Please let them know that they can find their own copies on our website.
